The night before
So it is the night before for many. It is the night of for us. Although we feel like veterans at this stage. This is our 3rd Wacky Rally and really looking forward to it.
Although having done it for the previous 2 years, we have kind of left everything till the last minute.
We have a 1998 Saab 93 Cabrio. We are undercover, so I will be impressed if anone spots us!!!!
The roof works so that's a start. It starts first time, well there is a new battery in it. The ONLY issue so far is the syncromesh. There is a crunch going into 3rd gear.
The first leg of our trip is the 0200 ferry tonight from Dublin Port to Holyhead. Arrive at 0530 and head on to Folkstone for 1420 tunnel crossing. We HOPE to be in Lillle by 1600 all going according to plan with our trusty saab.
For those of you going on this rally for the first time, prepare for the BEST TIME EVER! We are really lucky to have made some great friends over the past 3 years
A few hints about the trip. Day One, the 500 miles drive is worth it for the beers in Thun. The alps, well what's to say about the alps! Breath taking. But you will wonder why it took you 12-14 hours to only do 250 miles!!!!
